by Tim Shepardson and George Manta...

two of Chicago's finest bar industry veterans. George and Tim met while working together at The Cubby Bear in 1998. The two became friends instantly while learning the ropes in the bar business; from working security, bartending and booking live music, to managing and securing national sponsorship deals - they got a taste of it all in Wrigleyville.

Tim, a Theatre Major from Central Michigan University, left The Cubby Bear for Bar Louie Lincoln Park. He ran Louie on the Park for almost five years, building a legacy that hinged on providing superior service to his patrons.

George, a Sports Marketing Major from Indiana University, moved on from The Cubby Bear to Arizona where he helped open Hi-Tops Phoenix. He then took a job with Red Bull Energy Drink to learn the marketing trade. After having his fill of Red Bull, George turned to Tim for a new gig and became a travelling manager for Bar Louie before finding a home at their flagship store on Chicago Ave.

Re-united under the same company, George and Tim began to realize that their best chance to be really happy in this industry was to run their own business. After all, the only thing better than being your own boss - is to be your own boss with your best friend.

Fall of 2005 saw this dream become reality with the opening of ROCKS Lincoln Park - a product of their combined experience, determination, and friendship that continues to draw faithful regulars as well as new faces. Offering fine drinks, great food, and a friendly atmosphere, ROCKS welcomes you to toast with us - "Here's to feeling good all the time!"
